As part of the Rosatom Thematic Week at the EXPO 2020 exhibition in Dubai (UAE), a session “Non-energy applications of nuclear technologies for solving global problems” was held with the participation of leading international experts, heads of government organizations and departments in charge of the development of healthcare and high technologies, representatives of scientific and medical and the business community, the IAEA and other reputable industry associations. Natalya Komarova, General Director of Rusatom Healthcare, and Dmitry Vysotsky, Vice President of JSC Rusatom Overseas for Research Reactor and CNST Projects, spoke at the event on behalf of Rosatom.

The participants in the discussion discussed the possibilities of using nuclear technologies to improve the quality and length of life of the population, improve the level of education and healthcare, innovative development of a number of sectors of the economy and respond to global challenges for humanity, such as COVID 19. The problems of nuclear medicine were raised by Andrey Kaprin, General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “ National Research Center for Radiology, chief freelance oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Mark Plesko, president of Cosylab and Hannarong Shamsub, deputy director of the Institute of Atomic Technology of Thailand.
